Can I Make Deletions Myself or is it all Hands Off?

No matter which Privacy Bee License you have, you can always take control of removals with our complimentary Deletion Guides.

These guides are available for each exposure found on your dashboard and provide step-by-step opt-out instructions.

Signature Services accounts are supported by the Signature Services Team, so your experience will include additional hands-on assistance.

What You Can Do With Each Account Type:

  • Free Account: Privacy Bee scans to find your exposures, and you complete removals manually using the Deletion Guides.
  • Essentials License: Privacy Bee supports removals from our list of 450+ People Search Sites and People Search Affiliates, and you can still choose to complete removals independently.
  • Pro License: Privacy Bee manages removals for you, but you can still use Deletion Guides anytime if you prefer.
  • Signature Services License: The Signature Services Team will handle your removals.

Even if Privacy Bee is handling removals for you, Deletion Guides are a great option if you'd like to submit a request for a specific company yourself.

What to Do After You Upgrade Or Create An Account:

To help Privacy Bee work accurately and efficiently, please complete these steps after upgrading or creating an account:

  • Complete your Identity Vault (profile) so we can correctly identify your online exposures
  • Consider signing the Limited Power of Attorney (LPoA) so we can submit removal requests as your authorized agent

Signing the LPoA is optional, but some companies may require it before they will honor removal requests. You can retract the Limited Power of Attorney (LPoA) at any time.

What Happens Once Your Identity Vault Is Complete:

After your profile is completed, Privacy Bee can begin initiating removals and tracking progress on your dashboard.

You may see exposures move through these stages:

  • Discovered (queued and waiting to be processed)
  • Removal in Progress (a removal request has been submitted or is actively being worked on)
  • Closed (removal has been confirmed, and ongoing monitoring continues)
  • Clean (no exposure has been found on the site)

Some companies take longer than others to respond or update their systems, so status changes may not happen immediately.

How to Use a Deletion Guide for a "Discovered" Exposure:

If you want to manually remove an exposure that is still listed as Discovered on the Data Brokers page, follow these steps:

  • Type the company name into the search bar in the top-left corner
  • Expand the exposure/company details using the down-pointing carat (on the screen's right side)
  • Tap the blue "View Activity Feed" button (on the screen's right side)
  • Select the Deletion Guide tab
  • Scroll down to locate the Opt-Out Instructions
  • Follow the steps provided to submit your request

For best results, use the exact company name shown on your dashboard when searching for the Deletion Guide.

Prefer a Hands-Off Experience?

If you have an Essentials, Pro, or Signature Services License, Privacy Bee can handle most of the work for you - so you can spend more time doing what you love while we focus on data removal.

You can choose a fully guided approach, an entirely hands-off approach, or a blend of both - Privacy Bee supports all of them.
