What Does "Closed" Mean?
The status "Closed" can have different meanings depending on the Data Broker or website involved.
It can mean:
- Your data was successfully deleted from the site
- All possible removal attempts have been exhausted, and the site did not respond
- There wasn't enough information to confidently verify your identity
- The exposure didn't fully match the details in your Identity Vault
When Identity Verification Isn't Possible
If the Global Response Team cannot verify your identity using the information in your Identity Vault (profile):
- The request may be marked as "Failed."
- The exposure will remain visible on your Data Brokers page under the "Discovered" status, so you always have insight into it.
