When will my Privacy Risk Score Improve/Change?

Your Privacy Risk Score may fluctuate, stay the same, or even increase at times. While our goal is always to reduce your score as much as possible, some types of information can remain available online - especially when it comes from legally public sources (such as marriage licenses or certain public records).

A changing score is normal and does not necessarily mean your privacy is getting worse. It often reflects new findings, new monitoring coverage, or republished data.

Why Your Privacy Risk Score Might Increase:

A score increase can happen for a few reasons, including:

  • New sites added to Privacy Bee monitoring.

As we add more Data Brokers and People Search Sites to our network, we may uncover previously unknown exposures.

  • New or re-exposed information is detected.

Some sites republish data even after removals, or your information may appear in new places over time.

  • More data becomes visible on existing exposures.

Sometimes a broker listing expands (for example, adding relatives, phone numbers, or addresses), which can raise risk.

A higher score can mean we've discovered more exposures - not that your information suddenly became unsafe overnight.

Why Your Privacy Risk Score Might Stay the Same:

It's also common for your score to remain steady for periods of time, even while progress is happening behind the scenes.

This can occur when:

  • New exposures are found while others are being removed.

You may be making progress overall, but the total risk level remains stable as new vulnerabilities appear.

  • Some removals take longer than expected.

Certain data brokers and websites are more difficult to work with and may require additional follow-ups, verification steps, and longer processing timelines.

A stable score does not mean nothing is happening. Many removals require time, and some sites do not update quickly even after requests are submitted.

What This Means for Your Privacy:

Even if your score doesn't change right away - or increases - you can feel confident that our team is actively working to reduce your exposure and protect your information.

The most important trend is long-term improvement over time, especially as removals are completed and monitoring continues.
