How Long Do Removals Take?

One of the most common questions we hear is how long it takes to see results. The honest answer is that it depends - but this article gives you a clear picture of what to expect and why timelines vary.


When Will I Start Seeing Results?


Most users begin seeing exposures move through the removal process within the first few weeks of activating their license. Progress continues steadily as long as your license remains active and Privacy Bee continues scanning and submitting requests on your behalf.


Keep in mind that the more complete your Identity Vault is the faster and more accurately Privacy Bee can identify and act on your exposures.


Why Timelines Vary


Every data broker and people search site has its own rules, verification steps, and response times. Some process requests quickly while others take significantly longer. A removal that takes three days on one site may take three months on another - and that's completely normal.


A removal may take longer when:


  • The site has slow internal processing timelines
  • Additional verification steps are required
  • The company requires multiple follow-ups before confirming removal
  • The site is non-compliant or unresponsive


A removal may complete faster when:


  • The site honors privacy requests promptly
  • The exposure is easy to locate and verify
  • The company processes removals with minimal back-and-forth


General Timeframes


While every company is different here are general expectations:


  • Some removals complete within a few days
  • Most removals are addressed within a few weeks to a few months
  • Slower or non-compliant sites may take up to three months or longer


Privacy Bee gives companies up to 60 days to respond - a timeline based on CCPA and GDPR standards. If a company hasn't responded by then Privacy Bee sends follow-up requests and continues until a response is received. 


What Privacy Bee Does While You Wait


Privacy Bee doesn't submit one request and move on. While your exposure is in progress our team continues to:


  • Monitor for updates or confirmation from the site
  • Follow up aggressively when a site is unresponsive
  • Continue pushing for completion until the removal is confirmed
  • Resume the process automatically if your information reappears after removal


What If My Score Hasn't Changed Yet?


Your Privacy Risk Score improves over time as removals are confirmed and monitoring continues. If you've just set up your account give it some time - progress is happening in the background even when the numbers haven't moved yet. Check back regularly to track your improvement over time.
