How to Manage Your Own Removals

Privacy Bee handles removals on your behalf automatically - but you always have the option to take a more hands on approach. This article explains your options regardless of which license you have.

What Privacy Bee Does Automatically

Once your license is active and your Identity Vault is complete, Privacy Bee begins scanning and submitting removal requests on your behalf. The level of automation depends on your license:

Free Scan Account - Privacy Bee scans and identifies your exposures. Removals must be completed manually using the Deletion Guides provided
Essentials License - Privacy Bee manages removals across 450+ People Search Sites and People Search Affiliates automatically
Pro License - Privacy Bee manages removals across our full database automatically. Deletion Guides are also available if you prefer to act on specific exposures yourself
Signature Services License - A dedicated team of US based privacy analysts handles your removals with priority processing and hands on support

What Are Deletion Guides?

Deletion Guides are step-by-step opt-out instructions available for every data broker and people search site in our database. They are available to all users including Free accounts - so no matter which license you have you can always take action on your own exposures.

Each Deletion Guide includes:

Instructions for finding your listing on the site
How to submit an opt-out or removal request
Any verification steps the site may require
Guidance through each step of the process

How to Use a Deletion Guide

From your left navigation bar select Data Brokers
Type the company name into the Search Companies bar in the top left corner OR you can locate one listed on the page
Click the down arrow to expand the exposure details
Click the blue View Activity Feed button
Select the Deletion Guide tab
Scroll down to find the Opt-Out Instructions and follow the steps provided

For best results use the exact company name shown on your dashboard when searching.

How to Prioritize a Specific Removal

If you want a particular site moved up in the removal priority the best way to do so is to message Orwell directly. Please include your name and email address so our team can locate your account, along with the company name and direct URL to the page where your information appears. Our team will either prioritize it for removal or guide you through triggering a removal request yourself.
