What to Expect: Re-exposures and Ongoing Monitoring
Overview:
Once your Identity Vault is complete and Privacy Bee has started scanning, you may start noticing things in your dashboard that feel unexpected. This article answers the most common questions about what you're seeing and why it’s completely normal.
Why Are My Exposure Numbers So High?
This is one of the most common questions we hear from new users. If your exposure numbers feel overwhelming when you first log in - that’s completely normal and it doesn’t mean something has gone wrong.
Data brokers have been collecting, sharing, and selling personal information for years. The numbers you’re seeing reflect that accumulated exposure - not something that happened overnight. Privacy Bee is now actively working to address it on your behalf and your numbers will improve over time as scans are complete and removals are processed.
Why Has an Exposure Reappeared After It Was Already Removed?
This is called a re-exposure - and it is a completely expected part of how data brokers operate.
Even after Privacy Bee successfully removes your information from a site, that data broker may re-add it at a later date from another source. When this happens Privacy Bee detects it and begins the removal process again automatically.
This is exactly why ongoing monitoring matters. Privacy Bee is not a one-time fix - it is a continuous process working on your behalf around the clock.
Why Hasn’t My Privacy Risk Score Changed Yet?
Your Privacy Risk Score reflects the current state of your external data exposure and improves over time as Privacy Bee works through scans and removals. If you have just completed your setup give it some time - the work is happening in the background.
Check back regularly to track your progress. Most users begin seeing meaningful improvement within the first few weeks.
How Long Do Removals Take?
Removal timelines vary depending on the data broker. Some removals are processed within days while others may take longer depending on the broker's response time. Privacy Bee follows up with data brokers until removals are confirmed and continues monitoring for re-exposures after removal is complete.
What Should I Do While I Wait?
The best thing you can do right now is make sure your Identity Vault is as complete as possible. The more information Privacy Bee has the more thorough your scans will be - and the more accurately we can identify and address your exposures.
Beyond that - Privacy Bee is handling the work. Check your dashboard regularly and let the process do what it's designed to do.
