Where do I Start? What do I do Now?

Welcome to Privacy Bee! Thank you so much for choosing Privacy Bee to help keep your information safe online! We want to support our customers and ensure you get the best start with our platform, so we've put together these help articles to support you through your every need. Meet Orwell, our Privacy Bee mascot, who will be here to guide you on your journey to protect your privacy!

Orwell here is ready to walk you through setting up your account and bringing you one step closer to ghosting yourself. By creating your account, you've already taken the best first step! Once a License is activated (paid), Privacy Bee will start scanning for your information across the internet using the email and name you provided during account creation.

However, even without a License, you can begin requesting the removal of your information across the sites where we find your Personally Identifiable Information (PII) by taking advantage of our Deletion Guides and creating a Free Scan-Only account.

As you set up your Privacy Bee License, be sure to review these three key areas first.

Identity Vault:

Providing a fully detailed profile in your Identity Vault will supercharge our scans' ability to pinpoint more of your online exposures. Please ensure the following details are included in your Identity Vault.

First name, middle name or initial, and last name.
Physical address.
Date of Birth.
Phone number (optional).

Controls & Preferences Tab:

You will find the Controls & Preferences tab on the Account Settings page (located on the left navigation bar). The Controls & Preferences tab gives you the flexibility to choose how assertively Privacy Bee works to remove your personal data.

Limited Power of Attorney:

Some companies may require proof that Privacy Bee is authorized to act on your behalf when submitting data removal requests. Signing the LPoA will show companies that Privacy Bee is your Authorized Agent and has your permission to make deletion requests in your place. It's completely optional and can be revoked at any time. The LPoA is used only for data removal purposes - nothing else.

If you'd prefer not to sign it, that's absolutely fine. Take your time deciding what feels right for you.
