How to Assign a Gifted License

Overview:

If you've purchased an additional license to give to a family member or someone close to you, this article walks you through how to assign it to them.

When you purchase a gifted license it will not automatically assign itself to the intended recipient. You must complete the assignment step manually. Until the license is assigned the recipient will remain on a Free Scan Only account and no removal work will begin on their behalf.

Before You Assign a License

Before assigning a gifted license make sure the person you want to protect has been added to your Family Protection page. Their name will only appear in the assignment dropdown if they have been added as a contact first.

How to Assign a Gifted License

From your left navigation bar go to Account Settings
Click the Billing tab
Under the Managed Licenses section click the blue Assign License button
Select the person's name from the dropdown menu
Click the blue Assign button

That's it - the license is now assigned and active. Once they complete their Identity Vault Privacy Bee will begin scanning and submitting removal requests on their behalf.

What Happens After the License is Assigned

Once the license is assigned the recipient will need to:

Log in to their Privacy Bee account at privacybee.com using the email address on file
Complete their Identity Vault if they haven't already done so

The more complete their Identity Vault is the more thorough their first scan will be. Encourage them to fill it out as completely as possible before Privacy Bee gets to work.
