How to Add and Set Up a Family Member
Overview:
Extending Privacy Bee protection to your family is straightforward. This article walks you through every step - from adding a family member to your account all the way to activating their license.
Step 1 - Add Your Family Member
- From your left navigation bar, select Family Protection
- Click Add Family Member
- Enter their first name, last name, and email address
- Save the contact
Make sure the email address is entered correctly - your family member will use it to log in and complete their own profile.

If You Are Adding a Minor Child
If the family member you are adding is a minor, you may be prompted to complete a Parental Consent Agreement before the child can be added to your account.
To continue, you will need to:
- Review the Parental Consent, Authorization, and Limited Agency Agreement
- Check the box confirming that you have read and agree to the agreement
- Enter your full legal name
- Click Sign & Continue

By signing, you certify that you are the parent or legal guardian of the minor child and give Privacy Bee permission to collect, store, and process the child’s personal information solely to provide privacy protection services. You also authorize Privacy Bee to submit applicable deletion, suppression, and opt-out requests on the child’s behalf, as permitted by law.
Once the agreement is completed, you can continue with the family member setup process.
Step 2 - Have Your Family Member Sign In
Once their contact details are saved, ask your family member to:
- Visit privacybee.com
- Click Login
- Enter the same email address you added on the Family Protection page
- Complete the one-time verification and follow the steps to set up their account
This automatically creates a Free Scan Only account for them.
Step 3 - Have Your Family Member Complete Their Identity Vault
Before scans can begin, your family member needs to complete their Identity Vault. The more complete it is, the more thoroughly Privacy Bee can scan for their exposures, and the more accurate the results will be.
Their Identity Vault should include at a minimum:
- Full name
- Date of birth
- Physical address
- Email address
- Phone number
Step 4 - Assign a License
Once their Identity Vault is complete, you can assign a license:
- Go to Account Settings
- Click the Billing tab
- Under Managed Licenses, click the blue Assign License button.
- Select your family member's name from the dropdown
- Click Assign

Their license is now active, and Privacy Bee will begin scanning and submitting removal requests on their behalf.
What If I Let a License Expire and Purchase a New One?
If a license expires and you purchase a new one, it will appear as a new license on your Billing tab in Account Settings. It will not automatically apply to the previous license holder. You must assign the new license manually by following the same steps as in Step 4 above. The removal process will not resume until the new license has been assigned.
Managing a Family Member's Account
From the Family Protection page, you can manage each family member's contact record:
- Use the three-dot menu to delete a contact
- Use the eye icon to view their dashboard in read-only mode
Note that the eye icon gives you a view-only snapshot of their dashboard. Your family member must log in to their own account to make any changes to their profile.
