Once your Identity Vault is complete and your license is active, Privacy Bee gets to work scanning for your personal information across the internet. This article explains how that process works and what to expect.

How Privacy Bee Finds Your Exposures

Privacy Bee scans for your personal information by matching the details in your Identity Vault against records on data broker sites, people search sites, and other online sources. The more complete your Identity Vault is the more accurately Privacy Bee can identify exposures that belong to you.

The key details used for matching include:

Full name
Date of birth or age
Physical address
City and state
Email address
Phone number

These details must align before our Global Response Team can verify an exposure and submit a removal request on your behalf.

Why You Might See Exposures That Aren’t Yours

Privacy Bee uses broad based scanning to find as many of your exposures as possible. Because many sites contain similar names and overlapping records this can sometimes surface results that appear to be a match but aren't actually yours. These are called false positives.

We prefer catching a few false positives rather than risking a real exposure being missed. If you find an exposure that doesn't belong to you, you can add it to Ignored Records in your Identity Vault. This will suppress the exposure so no removal request is sent and help our scans learn which information to prioriti

How to Add and Set Up a Family Member

Extending Privacy Bee protection to your family is straightforward. This article walks you through every step - from adding a family member to your account all the way to activating their license.

Step 1 - Add Your Family Member

From your left navigation bar select Family Protection
Click Add Family Member
Enter their first name, last name, and email address
Save the contact

Make sure the email address is entered correctly - your family member will use it to log in and complete their own profile.

Step 2 - Have Your Family Member Sign In

Once their contact details are saved ask your family member to:

Enter the same email address you added on the Family Protection page
Complete the one-time verification and follow the steps to set up their account

This automatically creates a Free Scan Only account for them.

A non-compliant data broker is one that repeatedly refuses to honor opt-out requests, deliberately makes the process unnecessarily difficult, or continues to republish your data after it has been removed.

Common behaviors include:

Excessive verification requirements designed to discourage opt-outs
Ignoring or indefinitely delaying legitimate removal requests
Automated opt-out portals that don't confirm results or provide evidence of removal
Reposting deleted data - sometimes under a slightly different domain or brand name

Categories of Non-Compliant Brokers

How to Cancel Your License

If you decide Privacy Bee isn't right for you, you have options depending on how long you've had your license. This article explains what's available and how to take action.

Your Options:

Within the first 30 days - Request a Refund - If you are within the 30-day money-back guarantee period you can self-refund your Essentials or Pro license directly from your account. Your license will expire immediately upon refund and your paid benefits will end.

After 30 days - Disable Auto-Renewal - If the 30-day guarantee period has passed you can prevent your license from renewing by disabling auto-renewal. Your license will remain active and you will keep all benefits until your current billing period ends.

Log in to your Privacy Bee account
From your left navigation bar select Account Settings
Click the Billing tab
Locate your active subscription and click the More Options button — shown as three small vertical dots
Select Disable Auto-Renewal

* You will receive a confirmation message once auto-renewal has been successfully disabled

What Happens After You Cancel Auto-Renewal

You will retain full access to all features of your current license until your billing cycle ends
Privacy Bee will send you an email reminder before your term expires so you can decide whether to renew manually
If you change your mind you can re-enable auto-renewal at any time before your current subscription ends by returning to the Billing tab in Account Settings and selecting Enable Auto-Renewal
